Overview
As the seller of your tickets, you are responsible for charging the correct tax. Ticket Hero lets you apply a tax — such as 15% VAT — to your tickets so it is calculated automatically at checkout.
How tax works on Ticket Hero
-
You define your tax rate once and apply it to your tickets.
-
The tax is calculated on the ticket price and shown to the buyer at checkout.
-
Tax you collect is money you hold on behalf of ZATCA — it is not part of your revenue.
Applying a tax
-
Set up your tax (for example, VAT 15%) in your tax settings.
-
Open a ticket type under Tickets.
-
Apply the tax to that ticket.
-
Save. The tax now appears on checkout and in your reports.
Booking fees
You can also add a service fee to tickets if you choose to pass a booking fee on to buyers. This is separate from tax and separate from the Ticket Hero commission.
Important
Ticket Hero calculates and records tax for your reporting, but you remain the seller of record and are responsible for issuing tax invoices to your buyers and filing your VAT return. See Tax invoices and VAT.
